@WildGhorgh Routers … @WildGhorgh Routers are an option but this is MUCH faster especially on 3/4″. Routers require many resets on 3/4″. This works up to 3″ deep material. I cut a 2×4 round table 36″ dia in 10 minutes PT wood.
Thanks Dan. Other … Thanks Dan. Other than a treadnmill motor(where does one find that LOL) what machines likely would have decent DC motors for a decent beginning windmill project?
@DGFerro
won’t … @DGFerro
won’t have a choice in the next 25 years.
coal will fail us miserably unless people simply stop demanding so much and they won’t.
Hanford was a … Hanford was a military base used to produce nuclear fuel and weapons grade uranium/plutonium. It was managed by the military poorly and was designed with no thought of public safety or long term storage. The nuclear power plants today have moved largely to dry cask storage that have been proven to take a beating. The need for power is here. I would like more renewable energy used in the system, but right now our choice is mostly nuclear/coal. Ill take nuclear.
Draw your lines … Draw your lines corner to corner and you don’t have to measure the centre points on the wood… Guaranteed center… Hope that helps… Great vid BTW, and great idea – I’ll be doing this as soon as I’ve bought my house!!!
I allmost have the … I allmost have the turbine built but am having a few mental blocks. 1) how did you mount it? did you use magnents? 2) where can I get info on a generator that would work good with this project?
This has been a very fun and eductional project for me and my boys–Thanks
How are you going … How are you going to spin the plywood on the table saw with a guard in place?! Not sure what brand does that, but I’d like to see it. lol
wow there are a lot … wow there are a lot of whiners. THANKS FOR A GREAT VID.
this is something i hope to use in ZIMBABWE. thanks heaps you guys are great!!!!!!
This is actually … This is actually faster than most routers as they usually make a few passes. If I had a CnC Router, I would make a football shaped Turbine:-)
Thank you. If you … Thank you. If you do it right, you never come near the blade and can cut perfect circles out of 3/4″ plywood in less than 2 minutes. Stay safe.
WHATEVER. The facts … WHATEVER. The facts speak for themselves. Toxic nuclear waste, stored for 1000- ? years, in leaky containers. The original argument (if your 45 like me you might remember) was that technology was supposed to cure the problem of the waste. WE NOW KNOW that is
